Askwho Casts Pro · Last updated 7 July 2026
Short version: we keep only what the service needs to work, we don't run
ads or sell data, and you can ask us to delete everything.
What we hold
- Account: your email address, from Google sign-in or
the email link you use. That's the whole identity — no profile beyond it.
- Your library: the article links you submit, the text
extracted from them, the generated audio, and your private feed address.
- Usage records: credit history, episode generation
logs, and subscription state — the bookkeeping the meter runs on.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or
store card numbers; we keep Stripe's reference IDs and what was bought.
Cookies
One session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site
tracking of any kind.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare — hosting, storage, and delivery of the
whole service.
- Stripe — subscriptions and payments.
- Replicate — speech synthesis: the text of articles
you submit is sent there to be spoken.
- OpenAI — spoken image descriptions: images from
articles you submit are sent there to be described (you can switch this
off per episode).
- Google — sign-in, if you choose it.
Each receives only what its job needs, and nothing is shared for
advertising.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Email
hello@askwhocasts.com from your
account address to delete your account — we remove your library, feed, and
personal data within 30 days, keeping only what tax and accounting law
requires us to hold about payments.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion,
or restriction of processing — same email as above. If you're unhappy with
how we've handled something you can complain to the ICO
(ico.org.uk).
